I just wanted to reach out again and tell you how pleased I am with Chitika. The revenue has really been strong. The best part is there is no erosion of AdSense. My biggest mistake is not listening to you sooner. That cost me about $25,000. And you can quote me on that.

How much is a petabyte?

How much is a petabyte? Recently we released a blog post to help people visualize the petabyte. This article seems to have hit home. We saw traffic to the website jump as websites, bloggers, and Twitter users picked up the article and passed it along.

To help you further visualize the petabyte: one petabyte is roughly one thousand terabytes, one million gigabytes, or one billion megabytes. That's the space of 10,000 laptops, each with a 100 GB hard drive, on which you could store approximately one of the following:
  • 13.3 years of HD-TV video
  • 10 million yards of books on a shelf
  • 20 million four-drawer filing cabinets filled with text
  • 250 million mp3 songs
Mozy currently stores more than 15 petabytes of customer files. It's significant because Mozy is positioned to scale and take on large amounts of data. And being owned by Fortune 500 company EMC, we're here for the long haul.

Be safe,

Left Quote I had a break-in at my house. The robbers popped a window out of its frame in order to get into the house, and then took both of my Macs and most of my peripherals. Those computers had my entire life on them-pictures that date back through my entire life, hundreds of pages of my writings, my music collection, TV shows and movies from iTunes, etc.

The computers are replaceable, but my personal files are not. If I had simply relied on an on-site backup, all my files would be gone. Luckily, however, everything was backed up and I lost nothing. I'm Mozy's biggest advocate.

Happy 4th of July - Go Green, White and Blue

Sienna,
Happy 4th of July weekend to you. On this special occasion, here are some green, white and blue tips that you might find useful:
  1. Go Blue: For 15 years now, the human brain has been taught to click on blue links. Blue links have higher CTR (our eye tracking studies have proven this). If your website does not use blue links, you are leaving money on the table.
  2. Go White: A non-white background might look cool (specially with kids), but it is completely non-intuitive for advertising and making money.
  3. Go Green: And finally, if you are looking for a minty-fresh ad unit that produces some nice green dollars, check out the new mega unit from chitika (see image below)

Mega Unit for Sample Query - 4th of July

How do I get it?
You can get the unit by clicking here, then choosing the 550x250 "MEGA-Unit" from the drop-down.

Have a great green weekend.

Best Regards,
The Chitika Team
